Tarheel Open Calling Competition

Every year, the NCNWTF holds the Tarheel Open Calling Competition to determine the top turkey callers in the state. Winners receive a combination of cash and/or prizes and the title of “Champion”.
2026 Competition Information
Prizes will be awarded for 3 places in all contests and will include combinations of cash and/or prizes.
Date: February 28th, 2026
Location: NC State Fairgrounds, Raleigh, NC (Dixie Deer Classic)
Registration: 8:30 am - 9:30 am inside Jim Graham Building
Callers Meeting: 9:45 am
Contest Begins: 10:00 am
Please return this form along with the correct fees no later than February 13, 2026 to preregister and receive a 10%discount.

Entry Fees and Order of Contests:
Poults: 10 and under Free
Jakes: 11 to 15 yrs. $10
Intermediate: 16 to 20 yrs. $25
Tarheel Open: 21+ yrs. $50
Tarheel Resident: 21+ yrs. $50
Friction: 21+ yrs. $50
Natural Voice: All Ages $25
Owl Hooting: All Ages $25
Gobbling: All Ages $25
This is a NWTF-sanctioned contest and all local contest rules will apply. All Callers must provide proof of NWTF membership.
