Board Attendees: Henry Smith, Howard Rumfelt, Tim Draughon, Roger Reynolds, Luke Gibson, Richard Plattenberger, Robert Smith, Perry Bryant, Ken Moore, Bill Collart, Jason Huffstettler, Greg Cook, Brent Phillips, Ted White, Kenneth Shields, John Edmondson

Tim Draughon opened the meeting at 8:00 am with a welcome and a thank you to Buchanan Shoals for hosting.
Ken Moore gave the invocation.
Ken Moore Made a motion to accept minutes from the previous board meeting. Perry Bryant with a 2nd. Motion passed.
Henry Smith gave the updated financial report. Ken Moore made a motion to accept. Bill Collart with a 2nd. Motion passed.
Hannah Plumpton gave an update on the turkey research projects being done. She shared harveset info from 2022 season as follows.
1777 youth harvests
20,576 total season harvest
Mountain and piedmont numbers are back to pre-covid levels, with coastal regions higher
Top 5 counties were all coastal
Hannah Plumpton and Tim Draughon discussed events from the Wild Turkey Symposium. Turkey numbers are in decline throughout with ongoing research to determine the cause.
Tim Draughon then presented on behalf of Cully McCurdy and Laura Prevatte. Tim Draughon asked if the state chapter want to be a sponsor for prescribed burn fire council at the cost of $600.00. Bill Collart made a motion to join the council with a 2nd from Richard Plattenberger. Motion passed. Date of next council meeting 8-10-2022.
Trey Oliver gave RD report. Banquet revenue is up from 2022 forecast. Dates are needing to be set for 2023 banquets now. Gun calendars will be available soon to local chapters. Local chapters MUST have some type of event in 2023 or will be asked to no longer operate.
Ken Moore made a motion to wrap trailer with the new logo. Bill Collart with a second, motion passed.
Bryan Perry gave an update on the national board level including announcement of new NWTF endowment. Zac Martin followed with news that NC is a leader in large donors nationwide and discussed 10th legion and golden flock memberships.
Henry made recommendation that we complete “Call to All” pledge. All board members were in agreement.
Howard Rumfelt gave seed update and advised that coast will be an ever changing subject we need to address. Also asked that we get someone in training on seed program. Roger Reynolds made a motion that we change subsidiary on chufa to two bags per sponsor in 2023. Bill Collart with a 2nd, motion passed.
Henry Smith updated board on December Month of Prizes ticekt sales. All prizes except ATV are paid for.
Jason Huffstetler gave update on website. Any info that needs added can be sent to Jason Huffstetler or Jessi Sackett. Facebook administrators will be adjusted going forward. Jessi Sackett gave update that a retail store can be added to the site. Question raised on shipping logistics. JAKES page is also live and requests for trailer use can be made.
Ted White gave update on 2022 Call Makers Competition.
A motion to proceed and draw winner of scholarship gun fundraiser was made by Bill Collart. 2nd from Ken Moore, motion passed. Winner was Bill McCain.
Brent Phillips gave update on museum and formed committee with Tim Draughon and Kenneth Shields to keep added exhibits to museum as fit.
Bill Collart made a motion to table discussion on hats to WRC until more details could be ironed out.
Robert Smith made a motion to proceed with 2022 Shindig with Ken Moore making 2nd. Motion passed.
Luke Gibson presented info on Pamlico coastal land trust project. More info to follow.
Ken Moore made motion for new shirts and name tags for board with new logo. Jason Huffstetler with 2nd. Motion passed.
Motion to adjourn meeting with a 2nd. Motion passed.
